The art of translating

In today’s global world internationalisation is becoming increasingly important for entrepreneurs and companies alike. If you aim to get foreign costumers and readers, a good translation adapted to the specific subject and the target culture is an absolute necessity: a good translation appeals to readers and customers in a different cultural context without diluting the original message.

Are you looking to explore new markets by publishing your website, advertisement, project or press releases in another language? Do you want your slogan to be as effective abroad as at home? Or would you simply like to communicate with your clients, employees and readers in another country? Language barriers and cultural differences should not be a hurdle!

I work as a translator and proofreader and, as a guarantee of high-quality, I only translate into my native languages (Spanish and German), cooperating closely with linguists and philologists during the proofreading process. Furthermore, I offer related services such as transcreation and creative writing. I work with market-leading translation software and deliver my translation on time and in the requested layout.

Is this the first time you are looking to work with a translator? Then this excellent guide published by the American Translators Association may well be very useful.

About me

BioWordsinprocess

I have been working as a translator for over 15 years; either for direct clients or important translation and localization agencies.

As someone born in Madrid to German parents, I grew up between two very different cultures, and have always loved the beauty of language, intercultural communication and diversity. Furthermore, being a professional musician (my other calling) helps me to understand all those aspects which make language especially beautiful: rhythm, melody and form are as important as the right wording. Thanks to all my life experiences I can say that I feel at home in both the German and Spanish cultures, as much in the business as the artistic world.

My interest in different languages, cultures and continuous learning has driven me to work in several cities home to the languages I work with: Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, New York and Boston. At present, I live between Barcelona and Berlin and also visit other countries frequently in order to catch up with the latest local developments and keep my vocabulary up to date.

Some of the companies I work or have recently worked with include:

Linguaserve Servicios Lingüísticos (Spain), Matiz Soluciones Lingüísticas (Spain), Tritlon Spain (Spain), GoldMoney Financial Services (Great Britain), Clevercoin (Netherlands), Scharley & Partner Development Consultants (Germany).
